The Security Industry Authority (SIA) in October 2015 News Update claims “We aim to process a minimum of 80% of all correctly completed applications within 25 working days.
In September 2015, 89% of all applications were processed within 25 working days.”
The SIA have also stated in October’s Latest News that continuing to receive a number of licence applications with the incorrect sector completed. Please ensure that when applying for a licence, the correct sector and role is selected on the application form.
You need a front line licence if you do the licensed job yourself (for example, you are a security guard).
You need a non-front line licence if you manage, supervise and/or employ the people who do the licensed job.
Holders of a front line licence are also covered to perform non-front line activities for all sectors.
