NVQ Event Stewards
Event Safety Stewards are the life blood of any event and in most cases are the fist person that your customers are going to see or come into contact with.
For your events they become both eyes and ears of your team able to report any potential problems to the security team and other agencies for further investigation. As an Event Safety Steward working for Achilleus they will have been screened and vetted in line with BS 7858: 2012 Security screening of individuals employed in a security environment, our checks include some of the most stringent within the Door Supervision industry, and this includes a regular enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check. We want to know as far as we possible can that we know just who our personnel are!
Achilleus provides Event Safety Stewards in line with UK British Standard BS 8406: 2003 Event stewarding and Crowd safety services – Code of practice.
All Event Safety Stewards that are employed by Achilleus are required to take NVQ level 2 Spectator Awareness Qualification and complete further training within the company. You may require Event Safety Steward to work at events and venues both indoors and outside, these events or venues may include youth events, sport events, pop concerts, and street parades, film locations at sports grounds, railway stations, or theatres. All our Event Safety Stewards are reliable, presentable, well trained, motivated people with good communication and people skills, they capable of following instructions.
The perception of the security industry has changed dramatically. The stereotypical “bouncer” image where you had to “look the part and handle yourself” is no longer relevant. Achilleus’ door supervisors operate in line with current industry guidelines and best practice including BS 7960:2009 – the official British Standard for Door Supervisors.
Training, Appearance & Skill Counts
Your Event Stewards must be above all else by customer and visitor-friendly, approachable, have excellent communications skills and be able to meet and greet your customers or guests. At the same time, a Event Steward must also be able to professionally handle conflict situations, diffusing a scenario before it escalates.
Today’s Event Stewards must be good communicators and presentable with qualifications in:
- Customer service (Level 2 NVQ) Communication
- Conflict management (Level 2 City and Guilds)
- Problem solving
- Crowd management/Spectator safety (Level 2 and 3 NVQ)
- First aid (Basic and First Aid at Work)
- Physical intervention (Level 2 City and Guilds)
- Searching (Level 2 NVQ)
- Health and safety (Level 2 NVQ)
- Supervisory skills (Level 3 NVQ)
In addition to the above, all Achilleus Event Stewards have a working knowledge of risk management, law and prevention of terrorism. These skills and others can be expected of an Achilleus Event Safety Steward.
Screening & Vetting Policy
All Achilleus personnel are all screened to the highest industry levels & beyond. Our Event Safety Stewards are professional, highly trained and screened to a 5 -10-year standard in line with BS 7858:2012.
